Default Article Marketing: Title?

Should my article's title contain my keyword? I was maybe thinking of choosing an unique attractive title, just so my article has more chances of getting syndicated.

Thanks.

Absolutely should contain it, if possible, as well as any section headers and the beginning and end of each paragraph.

But why do on-page SEO for article directories?? Those articles are not meant to be ranked, instead to provide high quality content for syndication.

You can still provide high quality content while being somewhat optimized. The more optimized they are for your specific keyword phrase, the more relevant G deems the article (relevant to your site), thus the links are more powerful. Also, you may end up getting targeted traffic from your articles, which I've had happen accidentally many times, especially if your articles rank fairly well themselves.
