Default Adsense Puzzle?

Hi

I have a small environmental site on a paid WP theme, which has an average of 250 unique visitors a day. I have 2-3 ad units on each post. My Adsense account is showing only around 8 page impressions per day. Not quite sure how this works as it used to be a lot more than that.

Does anyone know how this works? Does it mean that there are no advertisers? I have checked everything and all seems ok with the ads appearing on the posts. The niche is quite broad with terms like solar energy etc.

Thanks for any help!
Wendy

Try to optimize your ads around and use the high performing ads like 336x280, 728x90. Case studies show that these ads have high CTR. Also try to change Font and font colour. Move the adsense place around and if you can paste your website here, I can tell you what is wrong. Hope this help!

Hi Guys, thanks.

Thanks for the offer Lawrence, URL is renewfreeenergy(dot)com (no www -I'm not allowed to put a link in)The theme is optimised for the two ad sizes you mentioned and also the ads change location each time a visitor clicks on a page. What I can't understand is how 250 visits turns into 8 page impressions. Do they all land on the disclaimer page which has no ads? I know I'm being dumb here but I just don't get it.

Anyway thank a lot Lawrence, appreciate it!

If they are truly unique visitors, then that is a good question.

Are you sure they aren't bots or spiders or something?

Hi Wendy,

I just blogged about some Adsense best practices that I used on one of my larger sites to increase the Adsense income by 30% in a day. If you click my sig link to my blog, you will find the post on the home page. If its not there, just do a search for "Adsense Experiment 001: How I Boosted My Adsense Income 35% in One Day"

That is a good thought, but I went and checked and they don't include bots.
Strange!

Thanks for your reply

Thanks Trent, I'll have a look, but I'm using a paid theme that does this automatically. I have another site that uses the same theme and it does very well. I guess this particular niche is not any good for adsense, so I may try another montization method on it.

Cheers
Wendy

Just checked out your blog - nice!

Great Micro niche website! Regarding low impression on ads from 250 visits is quite surprising. Can you check your Google Analytics where visitors are landing and where they getting on your website. Also, after refreshing the website the two ads 336x280 moved to the bottom. I suspect this might be the problem that visitors not scrolling down, reading just few lines and closing the website without browsing more pages.

With adsense ads! The background colour and the colour of your ads making the visitors blind to the ads (IMO). Try to make the Title black or description black (000000). After changing the font colours, monitor the performance for 1.5 weeks. Hope this help!

Thanks for taking a look Lawrence and for your kind words. I have had a couple of clicks on my page impressions & they have a good CPC. But I'm over Adsense for that site and will look at other options. May go back to it if the traffic increases.

Thanks again
Wendy
BTW On looking at the stats, the most visited page is the Privacy page. Go figure!
