Hey warriors, I have created a blog for Video Game news and reviews, within the past month and done some blog commenting, article posting, directory submissions, forum posting, etc.. I am currently hovering around 25-30 unique visitors a day (I know nothing worth noting) which is about 700 pageviews. I am interested in learning the Ins and Outs of adsense and possibly affiliate marketing but I was also advised not to add any of these features til later. My question here is when is an approriate time to add adsense/affiliate links to my blog? ![]() Thanks! |

Imo, you should apply adsense when you can average about 20 uniques visitors/day.

There is really no "set amount" of visitors that you need to wait for before you can start applying Adsense ads. More traffic will just help you get a better and "truer" sample of your overall CTR. For my Adsense based sites, I add them before I even get a single visitor. Then I start to work on backlinks and traffic generation. Once I start seeing traffic come through, I'll start to mess split test things once I get a certain amount of visitors (i.e. 1,000 unique visitors, just for a good sample size). There is enough traffic coming in that I'll be able to easily track various changes in CTR and see whether or not my tweaks have improved or hurt it overall. As far as waiting for a certain amount of visitors before you start placing ads, that doesn't make much sense (to me, anyway), but that's just my 2 cents. |

Well, applying adsense right from the beginning wouldn't hurt but just don't spend a lot of your time on it until you can sustain enough traffic to actually make some income from adsense.

Really that is interesting! So I might as well put adsense on today then. Thanks raxr Bhuff, what you say makes sense to me as well, That's what I originally thought but I have been hearing otherwise. Btw how long does it take for you on average to start reaching 1k unique visitors? Thanks for the response! |

I created my blog at the end of June, So 6 months from then would be in December which could be a few $$ to miss out on. Do you think they would accept a 3 month old blog? (I heard 3 months is accepted) Thanks Seoviviti |

Creating a new adsense account requires you to wait, and if they say 6 months, then I'd go with 6 months, and not before (they might close your account). Personally, I add adsense before any visitors start coming in, and I haven't noticed any real effect on my traffic growth or ranking ability.

| Why not go over to Squidoo or Hubpages and create a powerful lens/lub and submit that for your review for approval? Or, how about a solid Blogger blog with some activity and good, solid posts? A lot of people get quick Adsense approval this way, then will start to build out their own sites from there.

I will read the terms and conditions for adsense then and see how long the domain needs to be active. Thanks Odhinn and Bhuff my blog is hosted on Blogger, so will Google be more likely to approve it? I will definitely create a Squidoo and hubpages! Thanks for the advice |

Are you talking about applying or adding adsense?!?! About putting adsense on any site, ask yourself this question, "when do I want to start making money?" If the answer is "later," by all means wait. If the answer is "now," what are you waiting for? Christmas? Let's recap what a lot of people tout: Add content slowly.. Backlink in slow drips... Put adsense on months from now... Yeah! That's a great recipe for success ![]() Paul |

I think the reason many people wait is the content issue, rather than the traffic issue. Until you've got a few pages on your topic on your site to keep Google happy, they may not be excited about allowing your site to use their precious AdSense. They have the option to manually review your site, so having content on your site AND indexed may be a factor in manual review success. But as long as you're making an effort to post quality content and not just rehashed and poorly written PLR, then starting with AdSense is not a big deal, IMHO. If you're still not sure, check out XFactor on the forum. Some good stuff there, and you can uncover a few other good AdSense people by looking for good posts on those threads. |

Ok I will check out the XFactor thread, thanks esdavis. Also the content on my blog is all original, based on my own personal experience with each individual game so if Google slams me with unoriginal content than no one is safe lol. |

I put adsense on my blogsite after a month of doing blogs every other day or atleast 15 posts a month. And then I set up my adsense they started to SEO it. When a blogsite is getting old and putted adsense, Google will not question the blogsite of gaining adsense clicks. More money on the bank. LOL
