| SEO is a great place to start, also couple it with Authority sites for continual marketing and that delivers. PPC is a bad place to start your IM journey for long term marketing goals.

It's depends on how much time you can dedicate into whole process? SEO is better than PPC when it consider with long term goals, but requires some time and little hard effort for the success. Under this scenario, PPC can save your time.

| SEO to start with and once you've done that ramp up with PPC. You're not limited to one given the timeframe, are you? PPC needs more experience and is less forgiving, so I would approach it after I've had a hit with SEO |

Considering the duration of your project I would suggest you to go with SEO. But SEO will take time to bring the results as the ranks for your website will improve gradually, it might take upto 4 months and it also depends on the searches of the keywords you choose. On the contrary, PPC will bring you the results instantly. From the very first day of the creation of PPC campaign you will start receiving incoming traffic to the website. By optimizing the campaign you will get highly targeted clicks thus providing you positive ROI. Again, if you want instant results then go for PPC else SEO is the best way to bring organic traffic. Finally I would suggest starting with PPC and let SEO to bring organic results. Then you can decide either choosing SEO or you can afford to go with the both or not. |

SE0 would have been a great choice if it was a long term thing. But since it's just for 3 years then PPC will be your best bet.

I want to suggest SEO than PPC. There are many loopholes in later and the former is more result oriented and someone targeted if you device strategy.

| SEO is best option for your long term projects. If you want to be popular in short period then you can prefer PPC.

Hi stgibson, If it is worth doing PPC then it is worth doing SEO. If it is worth doing SEO then it is worth doing PPC. The bottom line: If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing both SEO and PPC. |

3 years is a long time for a project on the internet. Definitely SEO! PPC is not as worthwhile anymore for small businesses.

| Quote: The problem with that post is that is uses what I believe is a deceptive info-graphic. Those chart comparisons are not relevant. A better comparison would have used a comparison of ROI. When you compare the ROI of SEO vs. PPC you get a very different picture. The percentage of success with PPC is far greater than the percentage of success with SEO. | |

Since this is a 3 year project, I would start with SEO first and then I would consider some PPC campaigns.
