Whatever strategies did you use to get 6000 visitors per day? Use those same and scale them up. Its better to stick to methods which are working and which you are good at than trying out new things which may or may not work for you.

If you were getting 6000 a day you would probably be a lot higher on the alexa ranking, certainly a lot higher than my site which is 35,000.

If you are looking at stats I suggest you use google analytics and not the stats you see inside your hosting account, they won't be accurate and will show things like bots, crawls etc and not actual human traffic.

You can't summarize a website regarding Alexa rankings like that. I have a website doing about 6000 per day and the Alexa number is 400,000. If it was in a tech niche, it would be much lower.

Alexa number is only good for comparing for like niche sites, however a low Alexa number no matter what niche is great, your 35,000 is fantastic!

Reddit, stumbleupon will bring traffic to your which you are expecting. Also hire fiverr gigs who have profiles on facebook, twitter and myspace with thousands of friends, fans and followers which will help you to get huge traffic in less investment.

I'd suggest against paid traffic. Do more social bookmarking and try to get traffic through facebook and twitter.
