I need that final push

I have a few websites that are right on the cusp. They are local businesses that are ranked right underneath the expanded google place listings (not sure exactly what its called)

Yelp is almost always above it and usually so is one other site. I need to make that final push to join them. Any recommendations on what to do?

Any services that I should buy. I've noticed that two of my competitors that rank high have their own private blog network. They have about 6 or so domains that are giving them about 1,000 links each. I need to beat that and I'm not ready to invest on my own network. Any ideas?

Building your own network takes time and money, so the alternative is to use a blog network service. I'd recommend BMR. They're very effective.

Also try to find sites that are closely related to your niche. Offer to do Guest posts on them.

What have you done for the sites previously? Are you following up on them? Build backlinks to the backlinks you've already created. Look over all your old backlinking efforts and make sure they are indexed in Google.

doing that is a really bad idea. It may work for a while but eventually Google will discount all those links to zero value, this practice is obvious link spam.

One of the best ways to link promo a local site is to use YouTube videos, geotag them to the address of the location, and put the url and the full street address and phone number in the description. Any animoto.com type video will be fine.
