Someone has copied a whole page from my site onto their site, images and all which seems to be mainly about health clubs and mine is about cctv. I am getting a backlink from it. Wordpress is asking me to approve a pingback or not , what should I do ? If I give them a pingback will they get a link from me ? Should I complain about them copying my page or ignore that ? |

You probably I had an internal link on the page and they copied that as well. I'd ignore the pingback and leave it so you get a backlink. Not worth the trouble of going after them for copying.

A few things to check for is... if they credit you as the author with a link back to your site? Is it a site you want to be associated with? What is their PageRank? Debra Mastlar wrote a good article "Turn Stolen Copy Lemons Into Link Lemonade" and how to protect your copy. To discover if someone is using a copyrighted image, Google has Search By Image. Using Google Alerts has also helped me stay on top of who's linking to my site. Essentially, do I want them at my party? |
