If I place adsense ads on my site, what percentage of the cost per click is passed on to me ?

68 Percent.

Go to your Account Settings Page, look under Active Products. I'll add that just because adwords says the CPC is $1, it doesn't mean you'll get paid $0.68 for clicks generated from that keyword. Lots of factors affect that.

The adwords cpc figure is more of a general guide of how lucrative a niche is.

Now that you know, you gonna have to watch your back, but those CCTV cameras in your sig might help you out on that front
