Do you have to pay to use google maps on your site ?

I see more and more sites using google maps, but vaguely remember reading somewhere that a commercial site needs to buy a licence, is that still correct ?

No, there is not fee. You can list your company with google maps for free and use the map.

As far as I know you do not need a license except if you're charging for the use of the maps or using google maps for marketing reasons. If you're just placing it on your site as extra information, it's alright.

You can read their terms on the site if you're still unsure (code.google[dot]com/apis/maps/terms.html)

Google maps can be embedded on your site for free (no charge).

Enter the location into Google maps & grab the free Iframe code they provide.
