I started a seo company in Phoenix Arizona.. I have two telemarkers doing cold calling and setting appointments for me to close.. I buy data from infousa.com I know this is a broad question, but what kinds of businesses should be targeted that would have the most to gain from local seo placement??

Anyone who will benefit from the local customer base: Phoenix roofers Phoenix plumbers Phoenix dentists Phoenix chiropractors Phoenix carpet cleaners Phoenix auto body Phoenix massage therapists One piece of advice, don't sell SEO, sell "high market visibility" "Getting found for more business" |

Higher paying clients who can definitely afford extra advertising would be lawyers, doctors, dentists, CPA's, and other "professionals."

What about targeting multiple professionals in the same industry and in the same city? There is an area not far from my house where there are like a dozen dentists on the same block. How do you seo for more than one physician (or dentist, or chiropractor, or lawyer, etc) in the same city? |

Businesses with a local physical address listed on their website. Do a local search to find out who's listed in your particular industry. for example .... plumbers phoenix arizona |

If you're doing SEO for competitors, just make sure you don't use information gleaned from one to help the other. You should also make it clear that your service is not exclusive, especially if they ask. Just be as transparent as possible and make sure to compartmentalize your work. |

Real estate will be in the top of the list. If you like to work, there are a lot of adult network who also wants to optimize their websites. Local doctors, lawyers, Online shops can be good fit.

Personally, I wouldn't work for a client's direct competition (ie. another dentist office if you're doing SEO for a dentist) because it can and will cause problems. I don't really understand how SEO companies that "specialize" in a particular industry for SEO can get away with it, but they do. My advice is to find local companies from different niches and keep your services open to a variety of different, if not all, industries. The client who can't afford your services, don't need them. But by sticking to 1 niche, you almost limit yourself. So be open and willing and you'll do just fine. |

Thats good advice.. Most business owners don't understand what seo means.. But if you ask them if they could use more customers or more leads, im pretty sure they will understand that..

Also try businesses which cannot cater national or too far, such as hair stylists, restaurants, cafes because all their target audience is local
