Thanks Matt. This only return the page rank of my site. Any idea on how to go about finding the search result position/page for my site, with respect to a particular set of keyphrase? e.g. i enter 'cheap video rental for home' in google and the tool or checker tells me that my site is at position 45 in the overall search result. |

You can either use automated tools or virtually semi-manual method. While the automated tools are fast and less labor intensive, they are 1. Often inaccurate and just an estimate. 2. Often blocked by Google 3. Limit your search to a maximum of about 400 search engine results. Some even limit it to about 50. An example of such tools is Google Keyword Tool - Google Position I prefer the semi-manual method using Google Search itself as explained in this article. Check Keyword Ranking |

Add to this different results based on IP and lots of other nuances that the creators of automatic SERP checking tools hate talking about. I would go even further and say that I prefer using not semi-manual, but fully manual. Yes, this is boring and it eats your time, but you get REAL results you can count on.

You can use Rank Tracker from Link-Assistant. It's free. Here's the link: Rank Tracker - Track Your Search Engine Rankings Easily! You can also try this free one: What Page of Google Am I On? - A Free SEO Tool and Rank Tracker Rank tracker needs to be downloaded, but once it's on your computer, it's there. There are also many different features there. Good Luck! |

I will use private browsing as a quick manual means of checking ranking for some keywords. It is a bit more accurate than just making sure you are not signed in and usually matches what I get when I check rank using tools like Market Samurai.
