Hello everyone, I recently purchased a few high PR domains (PR3-PR5) at GoDaddy auctions. It has been a few weeks ago. Today, I went to create blogs on them to find out that the PR for the domains had PR of n/a or zero. I spent a good amount of money doing this and I'm not sure where I screwed up. (Im pretty sure it's a mistake I made somehow). Any advice would be great. Thanks, Adam. |

Adam, domain buying is not something you should run headlong into. You probably got burned by faked Pagerank - a VERY common fraud, unfortunately...

Adam, did you check if it was real PR? Two ways to do that is to run them through rankchecker.com and to enter info:domainname.xxx in Google's search engine, where xxx is the .com, .net, .info, etc. If a different site comes up, it's a fake PR. At GoDaddy, 99.999999% of the domains over PR 3 are fake, about 95% of the PR 3's are fake (and the real ones get bought up quickly), but you can find some good PR 2's. You also always want to make sure you check out the backlinks of a domain before buying. Another common scam is that people will do a redirect or setup backlinks with a bunch of high PR domains to another domain and sell it. After they sell it, they turn the redirects off or take the backlinks out. | |
