Default Adwords: Hiring someone or going it alone?

Recently I have been experimenting with adwords, I set up an account with a 100 dollar google coupon with the help of one of those Google guys in their call center and got some pretty conversions, and then when I hired a PPC manager, I did not get the same results.

I looked into Wpromote today, but wasn't that impressed. I am thinking I am going to go it alone, what do you think?

I'd give it a shot at going at it alone and see how it converts for you. It took me a while before I figured out how adwords actually worked. It converted pretty well but I put it on the back burner since I had so many other things going on at the same time. I'd like to get back into though.

I wasn't to thrilled with Wpromote either but I know some who swear by it.

I would also agree with dcc, give it a try and see what the outcome would be. Personally, I would do something like that by myself since reading some threads here in warrior forum, I have acquired some very useful tips and information regarding how to do it by yourself. This will save you some dollars.

I too have tried google adword and my experice with this was very good I got lot of traffic not only this I make good number of sales too. But yes I would suggest you don't have to hire a PPC manager if you have time do it yourself

Not all managers are equal. Pay-per-click is not an exact science. You could have had a poor Google manager and found a good agency. Another agency could improve on both of them. You just never know. Unfortunately, because of the greater need for PPC services, there is a lot of poor managers who don't understand how it all works and fly-by-nights.

If you want to do it yourself and be successful, you will need to learn all you can. But it's not for everyone and not everyone has the time and willingness. That's why PPC managers exist.

Learn before doing it because there is a good chance that your first attempts will be no better than those other guys. Learn why they did what they did, the reasons behind it. All this takes time and effort, and yes money too, so be prepared to put in that time, effort and money. Lots of resources out there to help you learn.
