I have a E-MD.com website. According to Google Analytics, I had 18 visitors in a week that arrived via google organic searches for the term. However, according to Market Samurai, I am ranking 601 for the term. The term only gets 4400 global exact searches. What am i missing here? |

Your site is going to rank differently depending on where you are checking it. I even get different rankings between my firefox, opera and chrome browsers. In the end, simply pick one method of checking your rankings and stick to that so that you can easily track your results. |

Same as above answers, but check both time and space of these visitors. It is likely that you danced to the top of the SERPs for a day due to your onpage SEO but fell back down to 600+. So check location and time that people visited your site. Cheers, Dave |

My guess would be you changed something and Google threw you to the top of the SERPs for a short time to test how well people will like your site. This is something I've seen a lot more recently, which is why I've been adding fresh content to sites much more regularly.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't done anything to the site in a few months, besides add a few backlinks. That is why I checked it with just a week's worth of numbers. Only 14 visits came from outside the US in that week. I have been tracking it using the same method (Market Samurai) the whole time. Must be the continued Dance. Thanks! |
