Rank Checker results getting worse by the day

I will start this thread by acknowledging that the hard working team over at SEOBook do some fantastic work on both the free/paid tools and content they offer.

However, over the past two/three months I have found the Rank Checker Tool bringing back completely inaccurate results. It's a great shame as the plugin has been designed with the end user in mind throughout the whole keyword positional checking process. It's now become dangerously inaccurate when running reports to make actionable decisions on.

Has anyone got any free alternatives to this tool which they would be happy sharing their experiences with?

I agree with you. Rank Checker results are getting inaccurate day by day. Before 2 years, I used to check the rankings of Google, Yahoo and MSN (when bing didn't born). But from last 3-4 month, I have disable the rank checker. That's because I am not getting accurate results when i manually checks for random keywords. I hope the SEObook team will update this tool to get back high quality results.

Recently it is showing ranking as it's wishes. I have seen a webpage ranked 4 yesterday and today it is showing PR 0. How did a webpage decrease 4 points overnight. Search engines are really showing mysterious ranking now a days.

I think you may be looking at a PR checker tool. What the op was in regards to is a keyword position tracking tool called "Rank Checker"

I too have noticed crazy results. I am ranked 2 then I come back in an hour and I can't be found.
Today I can't find any information at all.

For me, I used rank checker and I switched to a tool called SEO power suite (4 applications) the one similar to rank checker is called Rank Tracker

I started using the FREE version and I upgraded

you can upgrade using your affiliate link (give money to yourself) or get a discount, they are using PLIMUS and not clickbank so they are not restricted on that

anyway, the FREE version can do almost everything except I think
you can not save the project or export the result

for me, first few days I was having my pc running with Rank Tracker open
