What Should I Do To Improve My Personal Name Results In Google?

I'd like to change the results that appear for my name when people Google me.

A bunch of stuff comes up on the first page when I was involved with another company from the past, and it's not really me anymore... so I want to replace it with other search results.

I'm looking for ideas on what I could create/do to make new search results appear for my name, and I have no prob driving backlinks to...

Obviously things that look legit and good too (nothing that will make me look bad... and no bad quality stuff either).

Sounds like maybe you've done some things you're not proud of.

Maybe you could purchase an EMD with your name in it and backlink that to try and rank its pages above the other ones that display?

I would focus on registering your name on many different websites. For instance, creating a myspage page, facebook page, twitter page, etc. Google loves to display those type of results on their first page.

Create your profile on many of the social media websites, Linked in is the best website. Write press releases and submit those by your name

LOl yes that does not sound too good I too have my old business showing up in top spot for my name but I dont mind as Im proud of my past and have nothing to hide. All I can say to you is continue doing what you are doing and put your name on everything you do and over time your current stuff will outrank your other stuff.

Also if you dont have your name as a .com thats the first thing I would do also use your name for your Warrior account and anything else you do.

Are you trying to brand yourself for internet marketing? Or just hide the other stuff from being searched?

A whole bunch of comments came in while i was browsing around, to answer your question I too would suggest subscribing to a few social network style sites under your name as they generally gain rank quite easily.

First, create a Google profile page in your name. Make sure you link your profile page to your website, Twitter, Facebook, etc. This creates a dofollow backlink from Google to your current website.

Also, try making a YouTube video about yourself. Include your name in the title, tags and description for SEO purposes.

You basically want to create personal profiles and pages that Google will rank highly.

changing your legal name may be one of the options If you have middle name use that as your first legal name. May be just change the first name. Just my 2 cents

Same as you would for any keyword.

Build good solid backlinks and you will be ok.

Make sure you have good profiles on solid social networks.

Facebook
Linked In
SEOMoz
My Company Site
Youtube
Twitter
Google Plus
Tungle

Im sure others will vary but its a good start for you.
