Default Sticky Post

I am wondering if having a sticky post hurts your ability to get ranked higher and faster.

I currently have a sticky post on one of my sites. This post is a review post of a product. Therefore it's my money post

I have been then adding a new post every 4-5 days around a long tail keyword.

my concern with having a sticky post is this is the first post google see when its spider my site.

any thoughts

thanks all

hi steelbone,

I dont think that having a promotional post being the first one that google crawler see hurts your chance to get ranked higher.. what´s more..there´re lots of websites with money articles on their homepages and are getting ranked on the top 3 positions..

the most important seo factor to be successful is backlinks.. stick them up.. and specially focus on those with high Page Rank.. right?..Google give more weight to backlinks coming from high Page Rank sites than those backlinks from low-reputed sites.

I sure hope this has been great for u!!

Cheers mate,

Doubt it! But I've never tested...

From my own personal experience. I do not believe having a sticky post will hurt your ability to get ranked higher and faster.

I have a sticky post on my blog which is my main (money post if you will) page. Most of my traffic comes from that page and so does most of my earnings. I still get indexed and ranked for my other posts including new posts.
