Default Will this lose link juice?

I've been linking to my Amazon reviews when article marketing, but I realise that sooner or later the products will be discontinued or upgraded and I don't want to lose those inbound links. I bought a product called Linkaze last week and today I had the idea of using the link cloaking to redirect to my product reviews for my submissions.

For instance myreviewsite.com/amazing-product-number-HP6523-with-purple-frills would become myreviewsite.com/product and myreviewsite.com/amazing-product-number-HP6524-with-red-frills would become product1 etc.

Then in the future if product1 is discontinued I can just change the review for a new product and my inbound links will be pointing at that new product page.

What I wondered if I do this is if the redirects will have less link juice than the original links. Does anybody know?

Redirects don't loose juice or loose a minimal amount. That is why it can work to just buy an aged domain with good PR and link popularity and just redirect to your site.

The word cloaking is a worry but it looks like you are just going to redirect so it shouldn't be a problem

Thanks. It's not really a redirect, more a shortening of the product name post titles that get searched for.

I don't think cloaking needs to be a worry if you are doing it for the right reasons. Apart from losing sales if you use an affiliate link I like being able to link quickly while writing a post and it's a lot easier being able to remember mydomain.com/autoresponder or mydomain.com/hosting than search out the affiliate links.
