Default What are the odds for being banned from AdSense?

Hi!

I am doing a lot of efforts now in the norwegian market building AdSense websites.

My biggest fear is being banned from adsense, as there are not much affiliate programs available on the norwegian market.

I am not doing anything wrong, but my sites are very basic "made for adsense" sites. I would assume Google is OK with this, but what is your experience?

I am "copy-pasting" the recomendation from Google for my "privacy" page. Is it anything else I should take care of?

That is great that you are taking action and getting something done. Congratulations!

Just try to follow Google's guidelines as closely as possible and you should be fine.

With that said, you absolutely should diversify and not rely solely on Google. Google does NOT care about you and could ban you at any time for ANY reason. They really don't even need a reason.

Start building a few websites that don't rely on Google Adsense. It can be affiliate stuff, or stuff you create... whatever. Just don't sit around and wait for Google to change the rules or ban you. It is guaranteed that one or both of those things will happen. They are notorious for changing the rules, not telling anyone about it, and banning your account.

You just can't live in fear of Google. You gotta fly straight ahead. If it happens it happens. Have your bases covered. Honestly I would encourage you to give up on Adsense and start profiting from Affiliate marketing... but that's just me!

Want to make sales? Build relationships. Think about it.

Oh how true! Adsense is good and all, but don't get suckered in for those pennies per day.

If you have 1000's of uniques per day then YES! Adsense will put bread on the table. Otherwise, Like Blogging Pro said, sell something!!!!

That is where you are going to make your money. However, if you don't want to get banned from Adsense:

IMHO,
1. Stay away from ANY AD CLICKING SERVICES! (Google will see it, they are good at it and kiss that account goodbye!)

2. Please don't use back linking services. (Again, you don't know what techniques they are using, and it could easily get you banned)

3. Never no matter how tempting do not put Adsense in any kind of popup or email.

Hope that helps you out.

I always use the, "set it an forget it method"

I am actually seeing 1,00 to 1,80 dollar clicks now, with a ctr of 15 - 30 %, so I am very exited. Traffic is still low, but so are the rankings (still pretty new websites). My worries is that it will not last.

My first goal is to get these site some good traffic, and then I will continue with Affiliate marketing on new websites. I do my best to follow their rules, so I just have to hope it will last, and that the rules won't change.

I have had my adsense account for several years and never had a problem with it.

Follow the Google TOS and go about your business, worrying about whether or not your account will be banned every time you setup a new site will only prevent you from taking the steps you need to take to make some money.

But, hey, there is always a caveat: As long as you stay within the frame work of the rules and regulations of the adsense, you can earn handsome revenues.

Just remembered... one of the rules you have to follow is to never share information about your EPC and CTR...

They will hopefully not connect the dots...

I wouldn't necessarily follow this advice to give up on Adsense. I personally didn't start making any "real" money until I gave up on affiliate marketing and started focusing on Google Adsense. There is alot of hype around affiliate marketing - it is a great business model, don't get me wrong - but there is a TON of money to be made with adsense. There are lots of people making a full-time living with Adsense - including me.

Nobody needs to tell you how to save your adsense account.

If they do, then obviously you yourself are not reading what google
publishes. You are in good company then. Lots of people don't read.

There is never any reason for a normal person to fear getting an
adense ban.

You would think, though, that everybody and their brother gets banned.
No, those people just swamp the WF.

Adsense is one of the easiest friggin ways to make money.
Why anybody would ditch that for affiliate marketing is beyond me.

Technically, couldn't you get someone elses account banned by constantly clicking on their ads and making it look like they hired someone to click on their banners?

Well as long as you strictly follow Google Adsense guidelines then you should not worry about anything. I believe the TOS are there for you to follow and to avoid getting banned.

Have you read the Google Terms of Use? You should. If you follow those you will not be banned from AdSense. Your site may be de-indexed for shady link building tactics, but you won't get pulled from AdSense.

nothing is guaranteed with the BIG G but dont fear it and do what you think is right based on the ToS definitely good to check that up to see if there is anything new
but besides that relying solely on adsense revenue might not be a great idea as well.
might wanna mix it up with affiliate stuff etc.,

Click bombing does happen, but Google has enough of a data set that they know patterns and what they usually mean. Everything is also recorded by IP address, so they would be able to see that those clicks did all come from one place, but they were not the account holder.

The odds can be 100% if you are not following adsense TOS. And if you are following their TOS, then 0% odds. Do not make adsense your primary source of income if you have fear of getting banned.

I still disagree with this statement.

It IS possible to get banned and to have done nothing against Google's TOS.

I followed Google's TOS for Adwords (yes, I know we are talking about Adsense)... crossed every T, dotted every i... And 5 years AFTER I had stopped running a perfectly acceptable adwords ad, they changed their TOS slightly and decided they didn't like the website I had advertised over 5 years ago and retroactively banned my account permanently.

Fair? I fail to see how. I did nothing wrong... followed every word of their TOS, yet I was banned.

There is nothing stopping them from doing the same to Adsense account holders. They may decide one day they don't like a particular site you may have run adsense on in the past and retroactively ban your account.

Google is fickle. All I'm saying is don't put all your eggs in the Google basket. They don't care about anyone and are not concerned with doing the right thing. They do what they want, when they want.

If it happens it happens. you can always open a company or multiple companies if its you are really making a lot of money. so if u get banned, there are ways out, ban does not mean end.
