Default New-ish to SEO -need a little advice

Hi,

I've done the basic on-page SEO and adwords. Now I am looking to expand into other forms of SEO.
Backlinks seems to be the best way to create lasting residual SEO.

Now I have 2 questions
1. I don't mind spending time doing some backlink work myself but I am looking for someone or a service that can do some of it for me.
I have researched Sick Submitter, this is an option, but is it the best one out there? I have also looked at homepage backlinks, but I think that is better for pages that already have a high pagerank.
Anyone know a good application or a service?

2. I have 2 pages - a free weightloss page, which people sign up to for a newsletter - there is a sales page on the Thank you page, which we do OK from. However the signup page has very minimal text.

My second page is a pure sales page. This doesn't do soo well on it's own. But it has heaps more text, images and capability for keyword searches.

Which page should I be targeting with SEO?

Thanks so much for all your help!

Kathryn

you can post a project on oDesk or elance and pick anyone you like there - usually there are tons of applications for SEO tasks on the same day. although the most effective method probably still is simple backlink building with targeted anchor text - just do a LOT of it.

you should be targeting a site which has a lot of natural text - e.g. an article site/section. SEOing a sales page is mostly a futile idea.

Personally when it comes to backlinking, I'd recommend to outsource as it's a tedious task and most likely your time is better spent doing something else.

Best place to look if you're considering outsourcing backlinking is right here in the Warrior Forum... Just make sure to read what other people have said after using their services

Hope this helps

James

I do not recommend automation tools for backlink building, it would be better to look for SEO companies that offer services that you need. There are also some outsourcing sites which you could try and look for someone to do it for you.

Target the page that is not doing so well, since your sign up page as you have said is doing OK then target the other page.

Amen to that! Backlinking is like pulling teeth to me. I personally prefer spending time on creating additional content for my sites instead of spending countless hours backlinking.

Thanks guys, much appreciated feedback!

Yes, tedious I know, which is why I want to get soneone to do a lot of it for me. Yes, my time would be better spent elsewhere for sure, being the business owner.
I'm going to look on the services section here in warrior forum and on elance, ect to see if I can find someone who can help.

@Inari - why "SEOing a sales page is mostly a futile idea."?
I do also have a wordpress 'information' site' with links to salespage. But I'm afriad if I direct people there they will get lost and not buy. That's why I want them to go directly to sales page. WDYT?
