Hi All, Received an email on the 20th July advising me that my adword account was suspended "Site Violation - Arbitrage" Site is 32 days old and when I setup this site I got a £55 adword voucher which ran out on the 11th July. I have 4 sites that follow (or what I thought followed) a similar format. 3+ pages (not including privacy & contact us) 500+ word article on landing page and 400+ words on other pages follows with a news/latest info section where I post new articles. Ads where at the top of the articles using a WP plug called "whydoanywork adsense" So I am a little confused as this "site violation" email as struggling to see what has cause this. I have removed all ads from this site now and changed the theme and checked the my articles. I am a little worried about putting ads back on as I am unsure what has lead to this account suspension. I am also now worried that this will have an effect on my adsense account as its not clear what I have done. Any help and advice would be great Thanks Epicurus EDIT: something that has just occurred to me. Would using an adword voucher to give my side some traffic and also running google Ads on my site be a problem? |

You can run adsense on an adwords site. Google actually encourages adwords users to do so, just like they encourage adsense users to use adwords. You cannot monetize a site solely with adsense and expect to have it fly under the radar. Adwords is for selling something or other, or similar offers. Adsense is in conjunction, not the point of the page. Judging by your post, you are offering nothing except free articles. So what's the point of adwords? To get an adsense click? Exactly. That is against the rules. Put adsense back on the site and start getting some targeted traffic from other places. Adwords violations have little to do with adsense violations, although in both cases you are supposed to follow google webmaster guidelines. Following google webmaster guidelines is a little something people gloss over. Let me repeat. There is nothing wrong with adsense ads on an adwords site. Many people don't read and claim differently. But you need to follow the way google tells you to do it. Simply taking adsense ads off will have no effect either way. If it was, then it would be no problem having adsense on the site. Since there was, the site that would be left has no value for adwords. Paul |

Hi Paul, Many thanks for your reply. Things are a little clearer now. Basically the site has a number of pages with information, history and recently news and or new products. Anyone coming to the site would read whats there and perhaps click on the google ads, which I guess is what has caused the violation with adword. The site it self should (i hope) comply with google webmaster guide lines. Not trying to trick people into clicking or giving miss information and ads are set away for my text and any images I use. Many thanks again paul for you help John |

Hi, Here is a link where google explains their entire policy and what to do if you are suspended. Basically after you make your changes in accordance with the policy I should be auto approved within about 48 hours. If it isn't they have a form in which to fill out that will ask google to re review the site to get you unsuspended. Arbitrage - AdWords Help Good Luck, Jeffrey |
