This list is indeed useful for pinging websites. They are commonly listed in popular ping sites like Pingler and Pingomatic.

You should really visit all those sites on the list. Several of them are aggregators so they ping other sites on the list and you have a case where a site can get pinged over 10-20 times in a row for the same url. I don't know what those sites do with your site if it pings that many times for each post you make. Maybe nothing, as I don't see measurable results from pinging anyway, but that's just me.

Using 'pingomatic.com' alone can send the notification to the major services. There should be no use of using such a big list, as it may overload the server. or use a few good ones.

I think pingomatic is good enough for pinging sites because in this list for example we see several databases of Google and its not needed to ping all Google servers in my opinion.
