Default Low Competition Keywords = Money - Newbie and Expert Friendly

I debated whether I should even post this strategy because it will cost me some money from the copycats, but here goes.

Stop Snoring Niche Case Study:

As most of you know the stop snoring niche is quite competitive but I built a little 15 page website on the subject a few years ago and just let it sit without any commitment or effort.

Basically 0 dollars per month.

Recently I'd seen a TV commercial for Pure Sleep, a stop snoring device.

I figured a lot of people must be Googling "Pure Sleep" after seeing the commercial on TV so I checked out their website.

Darn no affiliate program!!

So I guess I can't make any money from the Pure Sleep commercials that all over the TV in the USA and here in Canada.

BUT then I thought ... why not find a similar product on Amazon or elsewhere on the web which is just as good and even less expensive and then send that Pure Sleep traffic to my pathetic little "stop snoring" website with my Amazon affiliate links!

I thought it was a good idea but I wasn't expecting much if anything.

Just a shot in the dark.

So I wrote this review article on Pure Sleep in about an hour and posted it on my website.

Pure Sleep Review - The Solution To Snoring Or A Scam?

The Results:

1. The article is on the first page of Google for "Pure Sleep" and related keyword phrases because there is no competition from online marketers because they don't have an affiliate program.

2. The article gets around 20 -30 visitors per day

3. 92% of all visitors click on the Amazon lick because they are already looking for a stop snoring product and who doesn't want to save money?

This strategy isn't new - Chris Rempel and his "Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate" and Dan Brock's Amazon affiliate material come to mind.

4. The Amazon product in question has hundreds of rave reviews.

5. My conversion rate about 17%

6. Unfortunately the product is only $25 so my commission is only about $1 per sale

Still a consistent $30 - $40 dollars per month, for over 5 months now.

From that one article that took me only an hour or so to write.

The moral of this story?

Even in highly competitive niches there are still low competition keywords or long-tail phrases that can bring buyer traffic to your offers if you use a little imagination and creativity.

Then just scale it up to make some real money!

$30 per article per month doesn't seem like much.

But you only need 100 articles out there like that to be making $36,000 per year.

That's' quit your job money for most people.

Not all your pages will be winners but if you post just 300 articles per a year.... that's less that one per day?

Sneak under the radar of the so-called saturated big money niches with creative keyword phrases and marketing, a few bucks here and there really adds up.

Excellent post. Not that I'll bother stealing your niche, but cross-platform research does open up a lot of opportunities. I've noticed quite a few 'physical world' ads either from magazines, television, radio, etc. that are pretty popular but not as well documented online as well. I haven't found one that I'm interested in however, but it's nice to read about someone who made it work.

BTW, may I know how did you make your ebook like in terms of content, opt-in mail system, etc. if you don't mind?

I actually am in the same niche. However, I took a more basic approach in finding my keywords and the conversion rates are through the roof. I promote one product which pays $40 in commissions.
