I'm curious to know since I've seen a lot of fluctuation. Are AdSense ads based on the keywords that a site is optimized for... The keywords that a searcher uses to find that site... Or both? Meaning that if a site is mostly optimized for a particular high CPC keyword, but ranks for a less lucrative keyword; which ads will show up? Does it depend on the site itself or how someone found it or both? |

AdSense ads are in most cases based on the keywords that each page is optimized for... Not the site overall, but each individual page. However, if the content on that page is not focused on a specific keyword, Google will show ads that might not be targeting the main keyword of that page. But you can tell Google which keywords you want the ads to be based on by using what Google calls "Section Targeting". All you need to do is to use the following code to select which section of your page you want AdSense to be targeted to: <!-- google_ad_section_start --> <!-- google_ad_section_end --> Incidentally you can use the following code to identify zones that you want ignored: <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> I hope this helps ![]() Tony Alves |

yeah, I have a tendency to substitute "site" for "page"... thanks Tony that does help actually, not the answer I was necessarily looking for, but still a helpful one none the less.
