Negatives to Purchasing an Aged Domain?

i'm curious what negatives are associated. obviously the domain url is set in stone so that sucks.

Activities of previous owners may be a negative factor. For example, he/she might used an email address under the domain to spam, and caused to domain been blacklisted. Another scenario might be that if the previous owner has some h@ck€r enemies and knowing his domain to make ddos attacks. I think the negatives buying an aged domain are similar to things like above. I heard this spam issue several times, it's more possible to hit.
