Default Adsense Frustration

Hi all,

I have been at this (adsense) for just over a year. In that time, I've seen my one site go from $6 total for a month to $240 total last month. I usually average about 240 unique visitors/day.

I just came off my highest month yet last month. I made the bulk of it in the first half of July, but ever for the past 3 weeks I'm on a downward trend with income (not visitors or clicks). This past week has been terrible!

Is this just the summer effect? I've noticed my site showing a ton of google adwords ads in the past week too. Could it be that the good advertisers have pulled out of the mix for a while?

I have had to push myself to keep up all year, but am getting really frustrated to see things moving down again. I post almost daily and do my best seo possible as I'm still learning - webmaster tools tells me I have over 65K backlinks to my site (I have no idea how that is really, I do very little manual linking and never paid for any service).

Any thoughts on this slump? How do you keep motivated? Is this a normal thing to see such dramatic shifts in ppc?

It happens! In fact the contrary is true as well. One of my sites tripled in daily income a few weeks ago as a result of a new advertiser that created a juicy ad which appeared on my site. Advertisers come and go and some advertisers have a set budget they need to stick too. As a result your income levels will fluctuate.

For this reason it is important to build more than one site. This approach will help stabilize your income levels and it will save you from the stress of focusing on the fluctuations from one site.

Hang in there... your income will rise again!

What i can suggest is most probably you filter off those ads that is not related. I'm not sure if it works for you but it definitely works for me.

Adsense can be frustrating sometimes but stick at it and you'll get good results.

Are you getting same conversion numbers?

You could be just smart priced. Happens with me on 1 site.

Is your website ranked on the first page? The Panda Algorithm change could have pushed your site down..
