[QUOTE=Eleva8;4403520]Mainze, I can assure you the pages that increased in PR had absolutely nothing to do with the links from Ezine Articles. Some of the pages on my sites have increased in PR without any backlinks. The reason for this is because the juice is flowing internally.

Interesting....like I said based on what I could see, it's all I could assume. Tell me more about this internal juice

It's got me scratching my head, one site I had is now PR4 and has all internal pages PR2 yet I have done less to it than my others. To be fair I have tried various methods over several sites so it may take a little time to dissect it all.....if Google gives us a chance ?

EDIT: Just read your post about the articles having PR. Have you backlinked these article? If you haven't then there in all liklihood their are internal links from Ezines that have PR which boosted the PR of the articles.

It is either that or Google is playing tricks with us

Chukcha, PR isn't all that important with regard to SERP ranking. It really only plays a role if you are selling links. But it seems as though PR is important to you?

The only way to increase PR is to get high quality backlinks. If you can secure high PR links from pages that have low OBL's then that juice will flow to the relevent page and the PR of that page will increase.

Links from article directories are usually PR n/a, as a result these links will not help to increase your PR.
It looks like its PR juice from Ezine as I built no links to these articles. The pages my articles live on are PR3

If an internal or external link is placed on a page with PR that PR will flow to the page that the link points too. The more links on a page tend to dilute the PR. That is why there is minimal value that is passed from high PR blog comments that are spammed to death.

Many sites sculpt the PR of their internal pages by internally linking from high PR pages to other pages that do not have PR, and they will use the "nofollow" attribute on external links to ensure they do not leak any PR.

But to be frank: PR is useless, if it does have an affect on SERP ranking then that affect is minimal! What matters is your bottom-line!

WOW I checked two sites I made within the last month, that I got some blogroll links to and they are both PR3, that wasn't hard at all!!

I am actualy pretty surprised, some sites I have been putting a lot of money into for "quality linkbuilding" are still only PR1

Indeed that is what the aim of the game is. Interesting your comments on PR however, it does make you wonder why people are paying thousands of $ for PR sites on Name Jet and Go Daddy etc....are they just throwing money to the wind ?

Who says anything about SERPS? I think there is something not quiet right about this PR update.

Right on brother ! =)

I think PR does not directly relates to SERPS but PR is a very powerful element in current eco system. It is very important not to discount it and use it to full advantage if you know how. Put it simply I would rather have links to my web site coming from High PR domain rather than from PR N/A and if it's getting easer to get PR then it makes it possible to scale and next think you know. You have a network of authority mini sites. That's my view on PR and that is why it matters to me.

@Mainze

Backlinks from high PR pages are powerful and they can boost a site up the SERPS almost instantly.

People buy sites with age and PR for various reasons. The good thing about this type of domain is that it already has authority which will ensure the site doesn't bounce around in the SERPs when it is relaunced. One can also purchase an established domain within their niche and perform a "301 redirect" to a site that is already existence which will help pass all that juice over.

Then others buy these domains to build blog networks and for various other reasons.

But sellers of high PR domains can be deceptive. There are many tricks they use to increase the PR of a new domain. One should tread with caution when purchasing these domains.

I am! But I do agree that the last couple PR updates have been strange to say the least!

I agree, something is strange.
I have a month old blog that went to PR 4 with many of it's inner pages getting the same. Besides my footer link here and a couple of comments at Clickfire.com, I haven't developed any backlinks.

There are only 3 ads on it, with just several informational articles so far. Maybe it's Google's way of saying what they are looking for in a website, information wrote for visitors and not wrote for spiders.
Then again, tomorrow they may all be -1 in the green.
