The PR4 might go down during the next PR update, but just continue doing what you did, and it will get back up if not higher

do you want 3 PR4s? I can sell some to you at a very low price because they have no traffic but I won't sell my PR 1 site with 40k/day unique US visitors

Well as far as my knowledge is concern it can happen because its up to google to give rankings to the sites. if you have good backlinks list from well reputed and high page rank sites and all your work is according to google algorithms then there is no doubt. I encountered a similar situation some 5 months back. Though we don't do anything with PR...the PR jumped to 3 and its 3 for more than 4 months. PR is important to justify our cost with clients

Well I am quite unsure over sudden increment in so less time however I think your site has updated content which probably you update at regular basis. Like the search now PR value also has been changed. Many sites loosed their PR by 1 or 2 and many increased you among one those. All the best!

Unless you're in the business of renting out high PR backlinks from your site, it's nice to have a good page rank, but it attributes nothing to the money making process.
