Default Any Advice on Dup Content with Dynamic URLs?

Am I going to get G-slapped for 30 plus pages of the same page but slighly altered?
I have one PPC page that is dynamic. I use a url to insert keyword variations in body and tags. Also I use the url to insert different polls and surveys. I've noticed many of my users are taking the dynamic link in the address bar and posting on the internet. These dynamic urls get indexed so therefore duplicate pages are created. I have a canonical in place to tell Google this is the neat version of the page. But should I be concerned about many variations of this page getting indexed and searched for? Just to be clear all these links are not showing of the same keyword in SERPs, but for different keywords.

Personally I believe that if you have 30 or so pages using the one canonical url to tell Google that widgets.com/original-url is the prefered url you wish to use then you should be fine.

You could also add noindex meta tags to the 30 or so slightly altered pages to be on the safe side.

Thats the problem, it's one page. But with all the dynamic URLs being indexed Google sees this as 30 pages of the same page, only slightly altered because of dynamic content. So I can't add the noindex meta tag unless I want to unindex the orginal canonical page.

You can use the rel=cannonical tag to fix this issue. That is what it is designed for. Also in WMT there is an area where you can suggest to google that it should ignore certain dynamic parameters in URL's which has the same effect as cannonical assuming that G does ignore all you want it to.

Oh just another point 30 or so pages is probably not too much of a problem. If you go into 100's or 1000's then you might have trouble.

Ok, thanks for the info. Worried that all these similar pages would be hit. I think I'm good.
