Default What does everyone do with the "legal" stuff

Just wondering what everyone puts in their privacy, disclaimer, terms and conditions pages of their websites. Do you all use generic ones? generated ones? or write your own?

Do you do it any differently with a website in the health niche?

Thanks for reading

Usually we get from other same big niche site and copy paste then read it 1 by 1 and manually do the necessary edits =D

Mine are usually generated (all the same) but obviously if you're running a legitimate business/ecommerce website or something like that you may want a lawyer to generate something for you or at least glance over what you create.

Copy copy copy. You want to save time by copying those legal stuff from prominent IMers. Do what they do.

The page probably isn't going to be indexed anyway, so I don't think it matters if you nofollow or noindex it. That said, if you succeed in branding, having it indexed might help since people might search for your terms, albeit rarely.

If you're on Wordpress, there are a couple plugins that take care of it.

One's called Easy Privacy Policy. You select the sections you want (It has a ton of options, including Adwords and Adult content, as well as places to add your own), and click create page. Couldn't be easier.

I am SEO.

Just do a simple test, throw a blog with some content along with privacy, disclaimer, tos and about us pages/posts.Then index the site. Then tell me which page or post ranks higher in google(I'm talking about new sites).
From my experience privacy, disclaimer, tos and about us pages/posts(new sites) are given more importance by google than the other posts/pages.And they do help in the evaluation of your site.

Seriously?

What would these pages "rank" for?

They are important yes - to ensure if you're running Adsense or other passive methods of income that you comply with their TOS.

Sorry for the late reply.Wasn't around for sometime.

They outrank your site for whatever keyword you've chosen(for new sites).
Eventually they go down in the rankings as site is developed.

My point is they add value to the site while complying with google TOS.
