One of the main metrics that SEO firms and internet marketers use to determine the value of a link is PageRank. Although this method certainly has its flaws, it is one of the easiest metrics to understand. Get more links from high PageRank domains and more specifically high PageRank pages and you will rank higher. Now I want people to understand that the PageRank of your own domain does not necessarily determine or directly correlate with your SERP.
