I have nearly 200 unique backlinks to my site which I didn't create, yet only I'm getting 100 visitors to my site daily. Do search engines still like backlinks?

Forget about the number of backlinks. Where are you ranking for your keywords and what kind of search volume do those keywords get?

Yes, They still consider backlinks as part of SEO. And proper combination of good link building and a well-optimized content will have greater outcomes.

Yes, but 1-5 good backlinks from great sources are much better than typical 5000 spammy backlinks which are maybe almost worthless.

I hope they still like it, cos I'm screwed if not lol...SEO and backlink creation are interlinked. So they do matter a lot still and will forever matter

They do work, but there are a lot of factors to consider, the quality of the page where the backlink lives is one of the most important.

I guess there is no real rule of thumb, but building links in a somewhat natural way and providing good content seem to be a constant around all the advice you may find here.

Any recommendations for a reputable backlinking service that delivers PR3+ backlinks at a reasonable price? I'm relatively new and finding out what everyone already knows about quality vs quantity regarding backlinks. I've seen a few offers on WSO but still trying to get that together.

Search engines always works on number of backlinks and targeted keywords on your websites. you should increase numbers of visitors by getting good number of backlinks from reliable resources.

No, search engines hate backlinks. The more you get, the lower your ranks drop.

If you're getting about 100 visits a day, that's 3000 a month and I'd consider that pretty reasonable. I think the number of backlinks is one of the very most important parts of SEO.

They claim that there's a whole pattern of links needed:

- Quality links
- Quantity of links (from different domains/ip classes)
- Authority links

Etc.

You ask if links are still valuable... well I challenge you to get ANY natural organic traffic from Google without having any backlinks
