My Conversion Rates Suck

I have never experienced this with any on my sites. The conversion rate is of 0.5%. I have an opt in box on the home page of my blog (main one is at the bottom).

Could you guys please suggest any changes?
I always have conversion rates of 2% + , but with this site, nothing seems to work for the home page...

too many escape routes,if I were you I would use the images of fat and hot slim girl images side by side and optin fields below them.Either the user has to enter his email addy to get the book or he has to close the browser.

That's pretty low, but not remarkably so. I've had conversion rates as low as .3% after sending someone to a CB sales page. Granted, it was mostly informational traffic, but still.

First off. What is your affiliate offer? Is that ebook a PLR?
Here are a couple things that may help.

-Catchy Banner Text with Good Pictures and Arrows on each side pointing down.
-Popup Domination (Catchy Text) Have popup generate 15 seconds into entering blog.
-Testimonials on side bar under categories with Pretty girl pictures and jacked dudes
-Exit Splash Page.
-Interlinking to different weight loss articles with in the blog.
-Read "Ca$hvertising" by Whitman to improve your sales copy.

I like your blog. It is very clean and simple exept for your opt ins... which is what you notice first. Good job.

What plugin are you using for the Social Sharing buttons on the bottom of the page? It looks nice.

The sidebar...position the text better so that it's centered or on the left side, not right.

The bottom email opt-in form...that blood red background color is very uninviting.

I am not really sure why I cannot move the position of that... it has always been to the right since I added the opt in

Any color that somewhat blends in with the overall theme of your page. It's not a huge factor.

I count 20 links that your allowing your traffic to leave your page.

How would you advise me to change it into a squeeze page? If it becomes a squeeze page,I still want it to be on my blog somehow, so that the rest of the content helps with my seo...

I would prefer keeping the home page on the blog as it is ...and not creating just a squeeze page on its own ..
I just want to make changes to increase conversions as they are too low. I have never experienced this with any of my sites. It's quite frustrating.
