1st of all I wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful information on this site, I'm a relative newbie at this whole web marketing game but my 1st site I started this year is already a PR4 :-) largely thanks to this forum. I had a quick question, I couldn't find in previous posts. My site is a niche PR4 site, and a friend who runs a PR6 site of the same niche gave me access to their blog in exchange for helping them out with some coding. I know in the sticky it says 3 way linking is when "123.com" points to "321.com", and then "456.com" links to "123.com", but is it a problem if "456.com" already links to "321.com" ? I'm asking because I'm trying to build links to my PR4 niche site from other reputable PR4-6 sites and trying to offer them a link from the PR6 site I have access to in return (the person who owns the blog doesn't mind as long as the content is relevant). Does this kind of structure work, or am I wasting my time? I could remove my link from the PR6 so it is the "3-way" described in the newbie sticky-post. However, removing my link from that PR6 site would be removing the most relevant and important link I have. Thank you in advance for the advice. |

Web marketing isn't a game, it's a business and should be treated like one. And to answer your question, why would it be a problem? As long as you don't close the loop you should be ok. If this type of linking can occur naturally then don't worry about it. |

Well for me business is always pleasure, so life is game :-) Well I've read before that linking in "loops" lower's the power of the links. Such as if google sees a lot of sites linking to me, and then sees the authority site I have access to linking outbound to those same sites, that it might set off some sort of yellow flag as a "wheel", or at least lose the effectiveness. Am I lost here? |

Google can detect closed link wheels and it may flag your site. More outbound links = less juice for each link. And that same link juice gets diminished after every other link it passes through. It's very technical but I wouldn't go into it if I were you. Just make it look natural, don't worry much about the technicalities. If you start following some systems or directions then you're making Google's life a lot easier. |
