With all of the focus now on good quality content and no duplicate content, especially on your website how does Google view WP posts? When a post is published in WP and it is set up to display on your home page it also has its own URL, therefore creating duplicate content on your site. Does Google just turn the other cheek because this is a standard WP set up? Or does Google see this as duplicate content and you get penalized for SEO? Is there a solution? Thanks. Shawn |

No, in case of wordpress or other blogging platforms, they have their own unique link for that page, the home page serve as a directory for the original page.

So Google sees the post on the home page as a directory to the unique link for the post so no duplicate content issue. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Shawn | |

WordPress does not create duplicate content, but the different ways the same post can be accessed can dilute the optimisation of your site. This article explains in more detail why WordPress doesn't generate duplicate content (and includes a quote from Google), but also explains how to minimise the loss of optimsation: Duplicate Content on WordPress | WealthyDragon Cheers, Martin. |
