Frankly, keyword researching is the most troublesome part of my internet marketing career. It is just so damn hard to find good keywords nowadays. What I usually do is I locate a product in clickbank, then I try to find keywords for it. What is your method? |

| Based on my experience, keyword research is of 3 types :- 1. Finding keywords that have been popular for quite sometime 2. Finding keywords that are popular right now 3. Finding keywords that will become popular in future |

I locate products or services that people are searching for. I judge my own interest in those products. THEN I begin my research of the keywords that will attract visitors looking for this product or solution. I personally use Market Samurai. I put a lot of weight on the competition for the keywords I propose. I refuse to compete against those with years of experience and SEO experts, when I can find niche markets which are underleveraged. Competition is tight, but not impossible to manage.

If keyword research isn't your strong point just piggy-back of others by visiting a web 2.0 site like Squidoo or even an article directory like Ezines. Spend an hour looking at the lenses/articles in a category that interests you and believe me you will have enough niche/keyword ideas to last you a decade.

It depends largely on what i'm trying to do. If i'm looking to build an affiliate site, if i'm building an ecommerce site, or if im building a site for a local business. The one constant factor is search popularity, and when different keywords get searched (trend data). This tells me alot about what KW to target, and WHEN to target it.

Personally, I think of or find a general, broad buyer niche from Amazon or eBay and throw it in Keyword Sniper Pro 2.0

![]() I think the keyword research should have 3 steps: 1. Get broad and general keyword ideas - Using Amazon, Ebay, Clickbank, Forums, Blogs to collect as much broad keywords as you can. 2. Drill down to long tail keywords - Use Google Suggestion scraper like Super Suggestor, Keyword Ninja, Keyword Sniper Pro, keyword optimizer pro to find long tail versions of your broad keywords. 3. Filter High Traffic Low Competition Long Tail Keywords - This is the key step to online success... if you can find a number of these keywords, you'll be able to create and rank your website for traffic in a month or less! So wait, are we discussing the method in which we find particular keywords, or the tools we use to find them?

I rely on Google Keywords tool. I always try to find keywords in the niche I am interested and then sort them according to search volume. I use "Exact Match" option to get correct results. - Steve |

Google's keyword tool + Google Insight. Google's keyword tool will show you that christmas lights is a highly searched popular keyword. But Google Insight will show how long that popularity lasts. You can choose to market in things that are seasonable. You'll probably have fewer competitors, but I'm looking for keywords that are at least semi-popular all year long. Edited to add: I used to be concerned about competition, whether it was high or low. But I remember a video of Tiffany Dow where she said that didn't concern her. She'll go after it if that's what she wants. I think that's a good attitude to take, especially if your backlinking is strong and reliable. |

I use Adword key tool for my keyword research. First I try to find out some very popular niches markets and then try to find out some long tail keywords which have healthy monthly search volume and comparatively less competition.

I do keywords stemming - from a very broad keyword term for my website then I vary it. From the variation of those keywords, I then search for global and local searches for every keyword I have already listed - and also the competition. I usually take a low competition keyword - to medium - to highly competitive keyword. |

There are still many good keywords out there and finding them is fairly simple when you know what you are looking for. I always look for keywords that have: 1. A nice search volume 2. Commercial intent 3. Stable or rising trend 4. Weak competition Hope this helps. Alex |
