I was reading something recently that said that I need to have links back to my home page and the way I read it it seemed like they were telling me that I needed to have the 'home page' as the hyperlink. Did I read this right? I have a link to my home page on every page in my side bar. I have the home page as a sticky and it appears as a page with my about, contact, etc. It has my key word as the anchor though. This is the way I always read that I was to hyperlink them. Please advise on this seemingly contradictory advice I read. Which is the correct way. I am not sure I can change it as I don't know how it appeared that way. I am using ClickBump Engine 4.1 theme and the Clickbump SEO plugin. |

Hi Timpears, Your current method may best for SEO purposes, however your first priority should be to your users. If your current method makes navigation difficult for users then you should definitely adjust to improve navigation. The best way, in my opinion, is to use anchor text within your navigational elements that make it clear to users where the link will take them, including how to get back to your home page. You can still include keywords within your anchor text. There are numerous ways to achieve this, just make sure your SEO doesn't interfere with clear navigation of your website. |

Hi Tim, I see no reason why you'd have to do it, but if you want to change your home page link to say "Home Page" or "Home", you can do it from: CE4 > Menus > Home Page Link Title You can also use the "Custom Menu" option for the header menu, using "Home" and then have the main site keyword as the link in the "Footer" menu. So you have both options covered if need be. Lots of options with CE4 ;-) |
