Market Samurai and Google Keyword Tool inconsistency!

I go for a 3 word KW to Market Samurai, showing with the 'Golden rules' filter (which is 'broad type' default)promising figures.

But when I put that KW in the Google Keyword Tool, 'exact' match type, the search amount is very low!

That is very confusing, which figures should I trust?

If you watch the MS help videos on their website, you will see one abour broad vs phrase vs exact.

Basically, what it boils down to is the broad is for long term results on an authority site that ranks for tons of related keywords. For most IMers, this is not what we are aiming for.

Phrase is more mid term for a site that you want to rank for a decent number of long tail related search terms.

Exact is for a mini niche site or for short turm results that doesn't rank for too many of the related keywords, mainly just the main keyword.

Generally, somwhere between exact and phrase is somewhat more realistic unless you want to create an authority site.

An authority site will probly take considerable time, it will need lots of content and backlinks.

Different keyword tools tend to give you slightly different results. Even if you search on Google for the same thing during different times of the day, sometimes you will get different results. Google servers store different things among it's massive amount of servers across the globe.

Exact match is what you need. You can set it to 'Exact' match type with the Golden Rules filter and it should show you correct data.

Exact match is definitely what you should be using in this instance.

Yeah, as everyone else has said, use exact match.

Since MS gets its info from the Google Keyword tool, I've personally never really seen any inconsistencies between the two when using the same match type.
