Nice blog, needs traffic

I set up a blog for someone who was interested in making one for her own reasons, and she agreed to let me monetize it with adsense. So I have a political blog getting regular, solid content, but zero traffic. I know almost nothing about SEO. Is there a simple, cheap way to get targeted traffic to the site? For example, if someone can point out a reliable fiverr gig which would do the SEO for me, or send real traffic.

The website is 2012democracy.blogspot.com

Any suggestions?

Go over to ArticleRanks.com and set up some free accounts to get credits on the article ranks network.

You can get credits to use to submit articles and get some backlinks from article ranks by adding free accounts on many social bookmarking sites.. Check it out and sign up for a bunch of them and add them to your AR account. Then you can get some free backlinks to your website. Non spammy links that google likes.

Then you can post articles with links to your website.

Add links to your site for keywords with low competition but high search volume.

Use the google adwords keyword tool to do a bit of research about the keywords before you start submitting articles on article ranks.

After you've submitted 10-20 articles you will start to see some traffic from search engines for your keywords!

start learning SEO and you'll get lots of free targeted traffic like I do.

There are a bit of work to build up the traffic, and first step is to find some topic that people are searching. Since your blog is about politics, I would recommend you try to find political news on Google News and Blog search engine, write content about recent political topics.

Promote your blog post in the politic discussion forums, post your opinion along with your article links in the forum to kick start the traffic, and if your site has good content, should see natural backlinks in few months.

Grow your traffic from there...

yes there are ways to pay for it, but youre better off to learn how to do it first.

I'm planning on learning more about it. But I didn't really put much effort into this blog, and I'm just looking to make a quick buck. (It probably won't be relevant after 2012 anyway.)
