I logged into my Google Webmasters today to find that all of my reported backlinks have disappeared. In the "links to your site" section of Webmasters, it now says ...Total links:No data available... That is what it said when I first made the website and had no backlinks. Is this something common and will return the next day? I had 23 backlinks mainly from articles, blog comments, and forums. Nothing spammy, they were all manually created backlinks (as I have no backlinking software) from high pr sites. Is this normal? |

Have you checked with Yahoo Site Explorer or other backlink checking tools yet? Don't focus on what Google shows you, the data is usually inconsistent and incomplete. Even though you registered your site and checked your backlinks it doesn't mean that Google's showing everything. Focus on your rankings and use OTHER tools to check your backlinks. |

I probably should have mentioned in original post: The site is still indexed by Google and ranking are unchanged. Just checked again today and backlink data on Webmasters is still gone.

This is a common problem you face when link building. The answer is that your backlinks are in dynamic urls which are changing from time to time (for example blogs that push back old posts and replace them with new posts in the same url). So practically you might not see your backlinks though it is indexed. |

give it a few days to make sure it isn't a glitch! sometimes in the back end I see weird things....only to find in a few days they are back to normal. Also, check your backlinks. are they broken? and are they still there?

I actually noticed this today with one of my sites as well. But since all my rankings were still untouched, I figured I'd give it some time before delving into it deeper.

| Agreed. Google isn't immune to network updates and glitches. I remember not too long ago all Google Places traffic metrics were broken. There is no reason they would deindex your entire back link profile unless you let the domain expire.

Okay, here's one for you ... I set up four websites at the same time and built four sets of backlinks to each of the four sites - and all four sites were getting nice rank and growing fast for many keyword phrases ... All of the backlinks were showing up as I had planned and then one of the sites started slipping back in ranking considerably. When I checked the backlinks on that one site, ALL, and I mean ALL of the backlinks had completely disappeared. Not one backlink was to be found anywhere on any backlink checking site and when I went to check on the individual backlinks myself, they were all still working properly and connecting to my site. All four sites were built the same and only one site's backlinks just vanished. How can every single backlink just disappear from all radar? |

Google Webmasters data fluctuates wildly and is severely delayed. Whatever you are seeing in it now is very old information in terms of internet time. Trust me. Don't sweat it. Keep rolling. Don't give yourself a heart attack for NO reason. Mark |

Certainly the most challenging process of building a better link to your website when you are doing. One-way Link Exchange is a good, free link submissions to high PR directories to submit your site. Images of the same niche blog on your site, and they were asked to place your website link to your blog. You will pay in exchange for their return, or you link to another blog if you can offer them. High PR blogs relevant to your site, blog comment.

My backlinks returned after being gone for two weeks. My ranking also returned. Very strange. |
