Which is the best analytic site to monitor web traffic?

I currently have statcounter and google analytics monitoring my site.

Is there a better choice?

If you want to maintain your privacy from Google, try:
Piwik - Web analytics - Open source

It's a free analytical system you can add to your own sites. The good thing about it is, you only need to add one string of code to all your pages, then you can log into a single admin and check all your traffic across all your domains (if they are hosted on a single hosting account/server).

Just be aware that adding the string of code across multiple domains is a footprint Google will use to determine the sites are connected in some way. But unless you are doing some gray hat SEO, this shouldn't be a problem.

Google analytics is in my opinion the best tool to use and plus it's totally free...Can you ask anything better than this?I don't think there's need to go on a paid option unless you want more in depth tracking..

This is just righ, google analytics gives you tons and tons of informations about the visitors, and totally for free. I don't think that any other product could serve you same amount of informations.

Google analytics is okay, but Woopra is by far and away the best. With Woopra, you can keep track of Funnel Analytics. For example, you can spot where visitors drop off during the course of a sale cycle (ex: sign up, confirm email, add to cart, checkout, upsell). Woopra will tell you the percentage of visitors who complete each step and more.

I wonder if all you GA fans have ever tried anything else. It sure doesn't sound like it.

As far as "free = good" goes (and pardon me, but that's a short-sighted method for evaluating a tool you'll be using to direct the growth of your site), the basic level of Clicky is free. It's in real-time. You don't have to wait a day. And the level of reporting is far more detailed in easy human-readable format.
