Hello Warriors, I have heard so many different things on Forum Profile links after the Panda update. So I am hoping to do some testing and looking for 10 participants who can help validate the case study. Since their seem to be mixed results for people using forum profile links; I would like to find out their value once and for all. My gut is telling me that Google did devalue certain profile links. However, my theory is that there is a way to do forum profile linking that will still provide significant value. So here is my theory: High PR Forum Profile links still work (IF) each user name is different and the Signature is Highly Spun; and the forum profile links are indexed over a period of time. I believe Google will give these links value if it sees different users, over time, adding the web page to their signature. The Study: I am looking for (10) participants to report their feedback on SERP after I do the following: Submit 50-60 High PR (PR 4 - PR6, mostly PR4& PR5) Forum Profile Links directly to their website using a HIGHLY SPUN Signature, and a Unique Username for each profile; then each day, for the next 5 or 6 days, take 10 links out of the list and blast them to a big list of auto approve blogs, using scrapebox. The idea is to index them at a rate of less then 10 links a day. Qualification to Participate: > A Low to Medium Competition Keyword (preferably on the low side) > A HIGHLY SPUN Signature, using {|} format > A domain that is ranked, and that you have not done any backlinking to in quite a while. (obviously I don't want other factors to influence the results) > A willingness to leave post your SERP results after the test, as well as, the competition of the keyword, the current PR of the domain, the age of the domain, current number of backlinks to the domain, whether you would rate the site content high quality or low quality, and any useful background information on the domain. Looking for 10 Participants - Once I have all 10 I will then start the Study. What I will need from each participant: Domain that you want linked too Anchor Text A short HIGHLY SPUN signature about 80 to 100 words, using {|} format. The current monthly Exact Searches, and the number of searches in "" listed in Google Please email me at David_Brown(AT)petml.com me with the above information, and I will accept the best 10 domains for the Case Study. No Keywords or Niches will be revealed during the test. I look forward to the results, it should be interesting! |

Ive found forum profiles to be a complete waste of time. Unless you can prove otherwise, I very much doubt a forum profile with a PR of 4,5,6 even exists.

I should clarify that the profile itself would not be that high of a PR; it would be PR(NA); I was referring to the PR of the domain. Sorry for the confusion. Maybe they are worthless, who knows, just thought it would be interesting to find out for sure. | |

High domain PR does not = high PR. (It's called pagerank for a reason) Forum profiles are fine for helping get higher quality backlinks indexed. Beyond that? I'm not too sure. I personally don't think they have much value. |

Wow, I guess I am the only one who was interested in this. I'd do the test myself, all my sites have a bunch of backlinks coming from tons of different places; and I wouldn't know if it was working or not. Nobody wants to man up??? I do all the backlinking, you just report the findings. |

Hey David, This looks interesting to me too. I have new domains with minimal links and we might be able to try new long-tail inside pages on a large authority domain. Please PM if you're still interesting. Thanks, Jose |
