How can I check my site rank for a keyword

Hello guys,

Can you guys please share with me how i can check my site rank for certain keyword in Google i know there are some sites out there that tell this but i can`t remember it.


secondly how can i check my site back links ..

This is not too hard. If you want to check the ranking of your keywords, you can use Rank Checker for Firefox. It is a free application that will check all your keywords for you. Or if you want to go the paid route, you can buy Market Samurai.

You can check you backlinks by either using SEOQuake, it is free download for any browser. You can also use MajesticSEO which is the newest application for checking backlinks. It is has a lite version for free or paid version with more bells or whistles. Another paid option is Market Samurai. All three are are good solutions.

Actually you can't. Each search in Google is unique based on the searcher. Where they search from, where they have been, and the phrase used to search.

People who view search as Static will usually fail.

You can get a good idea if you continue to get the same results and "rank high".

Yep market samurai does this all but i don't think so that a starter would like to use a paid service you must use some free services there are bunch of sites which will do this for you......Like keyword ranking tools and Keyword rank checker.
Keeping in view your competition you must provide only 1 or 2 keywords for your post or website (For new and low ranking websites it is better to use longtail keywords) ANd that's done, Hope so you'll rank good for that........

What I use is WhatPageOfGoogleAmIon.com to get an understanding of where you are for your keyword in the top 10 pages of Google.

Then you can go to backlinkwatch.com OR Yahoo and type in site:[enter your website.com] and click on "inlinks" to see the number of backlinks it has.

What I like doing is by using SeoQuake (for firefox) and then doing that yahoo method you can not only see the number of backlinks but also the Page Rank and additional info about the backlinks.

This is GREAT for spying on compeditors or just taking a deeper look at highly ranked pages and using their backlinks for yourself.

Actually if you use Chrome or Iron browser you can open an incognito window, then go to google and search, if you are not from the US and want to check your Google US ranking, just add &gl=us to the end of the URL in the search in your browser bar.

There are lots of tools and online websites can help you on keyword rank check, search "keyword rank" on Google you will get a huge list of tools and websites. As to backlinks I formerly used Yahoo Site Explorer, but rumors said it might be shut down in September, so I won't recommend it, try Google Analytics instead. And, why did you put such titile for these two questions? They have no relationship.

If you are not from US you can cheak your website in google by typing google.com/ncr
you will find out there on which rank your site is in US.
