Are Videos Hard to Beat?

Hello everyone

I have done some research and have found a good niche to enter. The competition is fairly low, with about 6000 exacts a month. However, I see that the top 3 positions are all videos.
2 youtube videos and 1 veoh.

Are these videos hard to outrank?

No but you will probably need to create a video of your own and SEO it. It seems like the niche is targeted towards videos.

from my observation, if you see video show up on a keyword, the keyword might not be highly competitive, also the 6000/month from google adwords might not be correct.

No. Not really. I've noticed that Google will show videos (usually) when there's not a lot of high quality competition.

These videos could be difficult to outrank with a contextual website but could be very easy to outrank with a simple video.

- Just look at how well the keyword is optimized in Title, Description and Tags.
- Then see the video's view count, comments and likes.
- Make a short video yourself or, hire an actor to do one on Fiverr.com.
- Optimize you keyword in your video and looking into getting some views and likes (if needed) from services like YouLikeHits.com (Free) or Fiverr.com ($5).

This can be a very simple and FAST way to outrank videos and get #1 on Google.

This probably means that most of the searches on google are coming under the videos category, not the web. Same for if images are showing up on the 1st page.

I would create simple video and SEO it. In the video you can promote your website, make sure to have a link to the website in video's description as well. Usually it's much easier to rank your video then a website.
Working on one client's project we were able to rank youtube video for desired keyword higher then website itself. And there were NO OTHER videos in search results )))
If you promote both, video and website, it's just will bring you better results and more traffic. Good luck!

Check on each of these videos backlinks. I am not talking about the homepage, but the pages where the videos are added. If you think you can beat the numbers returned by the backlink checker tool you used, then you can probably outrank them.

You should be able to outrank them as Google puts up videos stacked because there is nothing better to display.
When there is only one video it may be harder to beat but stacked videos are sometimes from lack of content.

Real on page high pr links and in content links will help you outrank your competition.

Today i outrank 5 videos with Hight Pr (like pr 5) that wore on the 1 to 5 position on the searches. But using amr, senuke and some manually commenting on some related blogs i succesfully today outranked them.....If my results will keep the same after 2-3 weeks i will post my strategy that i used on the WF...

I guess it would a video vs video competition and a content vs content competition...
But if you are able to outrank a video with a content and stays on the top for a couple of months, then that would a great success.
