Am re-posting this hoping someone will help. About 4 weeks ago I started a blog on WP. I then over the following week wrote 9 articles and posted them on good sites like ezine articles, squidoo etc. Each article on a different site. Articles are original and not spun and are completely different from each other. When I look for my blog's position on google it is still 0 and is showing no backlinks at all. How do I get my blog to show up on google. I have used an SEO optimized theme and have done blog posts 3 days apart. My blogs are 100% optimized with Clickbump SEO (except two which I think were 90%) so I don't know what more I can do. (By the way, this plugin made a huge difference as to how the site looked). Other plugins that are supposed to help with this (I think) are Google XML Sitemaps All in One SEO Pack MazBlogPress Ping Optimizer (as I understand that everytime you update a blog post it gets pinged by WP and if you have a lot of amendments this could be a problem). What should I do? Can anyone help? |

Usually you don't even have to subit your site to get it indexed, just having links from an indexed site leads them to 'discover' your site. (Some say that's better than submitting it to Google's webmaster tools). You have tried searching site:yourdomain.com should show any indexed pages. |

I am in a similar situation as you, where I have a new site, it is indexed and I have been building links for almost a couple of weeks now, but still none of them show up.

Hi I was wondering how old is your site and did you firstly check if google skim index your site? I came to understand that Google does two different types of indexing for new sites one is called skim indexing and the other is deep indexing. So to see if you were index and see what sites are linked to you, I usually do it the old school way by typing within the search bar of google "www DOT YOURDOMAIN DOT COM" which will give you all the exact match term with that domain name within any resuts that comes up. Remember to use the QUOTES before typing your domain and close it with QUOTES. I hope that helps |

Hi, if it is a popular keyword phrase that you picked up. I would becareful as someone probably had it and blasted it with links and then dropped it because they got de indexed. I found myself in a similiar situation and was advise to contact google, which I could not be bothered. If the domain is ok, you should be indexed in a couple of days. |

Let's clarify this stuff before we start. 1. Indexing in Google (read webapex comments) Ensure you are indexed. If you have backlinked or published articles you almost certainly will already be indexed. Type site:yoursite.com into Google search. If you get results you are indexed. If so then don't worry about this part any more. If not drop your url into Profit Instruments: Quick Index Tool You get your site indexed in 24 hours Assuming you are indexed then 2. Getting Google search ranking. I.e displaying your website somewhere in the Google search results. You say two weeks and no backlinks showing and your search position is still 0. You don't say where you looking for your backlinks or where you are checking your search rankings. Tale these one at a time. Backlinks. Only Google will know how many backlinks they have indexed but number of tools will estimate that for you. Most are wildly inaccurate. I personally find the best one to be MajesticSEO.com. They will start to see your backlinks after around 2 weeks and then update them daily. Check there for your backlinks. Google/Yahoo specifically and many others have very poor back link statistics. Whatever you use stick to one to be consistent. Search Position Install the SEObook toolbar on your Firefox browser and use the "rank checker tool". Assuming your on-page SEO is good as you indicate then it's all about backlinks. The more backlinks and the better quality backlinks then the higher your site will appear in the search results. Of course how much "link juice" you need to get onto Google page 1 will depend on the strength of competition of the websites in the top ten positions in the Google search for your keyword. Use Market samurai or Traffic Travis to see the competition (PR/Backlinks etc) for each of those sites. this will give you an idea of how many backlinks you will need to rank up there with them. You cannot simply put a site up, backlink it and expect to rank highly. This is the research you should have done before building your site. |

Hey Sophy. Here is my formula for getting indexed and up on Google even with a Pagerank 0 blog. It worked for me. First, I create a feedburner feed. Then I link it to a twitter account that I create specifically for the blog. Then I create and RSS feed to a Facebook page (once again created specifically for the blog). After that, I social bookmark on Reditt and Stumbleupon and a few other of the big social bookmarking sites. My theory, which is probably an incorrect supposition, is that since google owns feedburner, it pays a little more attention. Oh yeah, I also put adsense on the right sidebar, but I don't think Google actually cares about that. |

| Thank you all so much for your replies! My site is www DOT personalizedbooksv DOT com I did a google search for site:mysite.com and it DID come up along with 3 other links that were not my articles. None of my articles showed up. I had a look on Traffic Travis and my site has 0/36 links (not sure what that means) and a 0 rank on Google and Alexa. Would really like to find out what page on google I am on (page 1, 2 3 etc) I have had a look through several pages but gave up. Is there a way I can find out what page I am on as I would like to know if I am moving up towards page one and not sure how to do this. Got confused for a while with page rank number. Still not sure what that is! Did a search on Majestic SEO but it came up with nothing, so I guess my backlinks are really not working. I did all my articles around 2/3 weeks ago. Can't remember the sites I tried to find backlinks on. Did a google search on how to find your websites backlinks and did a couple of searches on the programs I found but they all came up with 0 (like MajesticSEO). Not sure what to do now. ![]() If any of you have the time to have a quick look at my site and give me an honest opinion (don't mind harsh if it is helpful!) that would be great. If you see any glaring mistakes or things I can do to improve it, please, please let me know. I would love to earn just a little money from this. Everyone else seems to be able to do it, so I don't see why I can't!! Don't mind putting in the hours if only I could see a result. How many articles do you think I should do before I start on the next project? Anyway, thank you so much for all your comments and your taking the time to help. |

Backlinks will only show up if the links are dofollow, and they only show up once crawled by Google so there are no definite time for them to show up however you can signal the presence of the link by pinging it.

There are 2 things which i want to clear. First if you are looking for your blog in Google.com than try with this site:yoursite.com but if you are looking for a particular phrase then it may be in down pages other than first page. But if you are looking for back links in google.com then you should wait for few days. Because all the links which are indexed recently are not shown in google.com immediately. So just wait for some time and while posting in article sites take care of Nofollow and do follow tags for your links. |

I did the articles at least 2 weeks ago so surely they would show as backlinks? So you know where I am coming from, I bought Wicked Simple Cash, a WSO advertised here on the warrior forum and a mass of fantastic reviews. I put articles on each of the sites that was suggested by the writer, so I assume they would be do follow. Also I would like to ask again how I can find out what page or number I am on google (not page rank). I would like to see if the site moves up at all. How do I do this? | |

Looks like your blog is indexed in Google. Try pinging each backlink with a mass pinger. Drop MaxBlogPress - that's a fantasy tale about a problem with each update. Odd isn't that hardly anyone uses it, but they have no problem getting indexed, and are not banned. I know my sites are better off without it. There's not a lot of text on your blog. You probably need more text to get Google's attention about giving you a good ranking. . |

Google will not show all backlinks and more over it can really take a long time for those back links to show up.

To check my backlinks the most commonly used is Yahoo's site explorer. It won't be 100% accurate but it will still show a pretty comprehensive list.
