Strange?... My Seo Campaign And Results!!!

I was recently sitting on page 3 on Google for my keyword. I have been there for about 3 weeks roughly now. I checked out how i could improve my site's ranking for this keyword and this is what i did to improve it:

I added more content, page did have 700 words, it nows has 1250 words, very well optimized keyword density, h1 tages, anchor text, alt tags etc...you name it it's all there!

Last week built some high quality backlinks, press release's and some social bookmarking. Built around 60 links in total, (these were quality links)

I then changed my theme on wordpress, did everything to improve, which i did!

Then suddenly last week it droped from page 3 to page 7
It didn't go into the google dance, it just dropped! How is this possible? I improved it big time and this happens!

Sometimes seo really baffles me somtimes, i've got better links, content etc you name it.

Anyone had any exsperience with this? Would love to here your thoughts!

Sometimes when you notice you are ranking for a certain keyword naturally, then you start to try and get it higher, you will actually drop. It doesn't seem to make any sense but I've had it happen many times. However, if you keep working it will eventually come back higher and stronger.

Trent is right. Don't worry about it and just keep working on it. Btw, forget about this 2 keyword density, h1 tages. It won't help you in ranking.

May be the backlinks you are building are not relative to your site. Build some more backlinks by commenting some blogs which are highly related to your website and track your progress.

It's a long-term strategy. I can already tell that you're over-analyzing if you're watching your Page 3 rankings so closely lol.

Just keep doing what you're doing. You're right, you are improving and over time you will get the results you're looking for granted you take the right steps.

If you site is relatively new, it may be Google Sandbox. Its perfectly normal, just continue to work on site like you do usually

Just keep it up! This is typical SEO and the results you are experiencing are normal.

Quit focusing so closely on your rankings and focus on making your website better. Its a noobie thing that we all have done at one point or another but really anything past Page 3 isn't worth monitoring so closely.
