Hi everyone, Hope you are doing great. Please can anyone tell me, how accurate is AW Stats?? I have my hosting with hostgator. The data in Aw Stats differs greatly to the webalizer prog in there. But more importantly, it differs HUGELY to stats generated by google analytics. Please can someone explain to me why? :-) And in order, webalizer tells me I have the most traffic, 2nd is aw stats, 3rd is analytics... Whats the best to base decisions on, and why? Hope someone can help, thanks :-) |

There is no such thing as accurate stats. They all show something different. Choose one and go with it. Most people choose google analytics because its free and shows you a lot of good information about your traffic, but no, it's not accurate either. Getclicky statpress quantcast alexa bing yahoo webmastertools marketsamurai traffictravis none of them will give you accurate stats. It's just a numbers game, learn to play it. |

Agree with exploringinfinity... you should not only depend on one. Perhaps you can try analytics together with awstats. I'd trust analytics more than awstats because if i am not mistaken, awstats records traffic even for google bots. or spiders... =)

One major difference is that Google bots are registered by AWStats but not by Google Analytics. I personally just go by with what Analytics tells me over anything else.
