My wordpress site is taking a lot of cpu processing power on the server apparently, which my hosting company has limted to 100 (mhz?) I tried to speed it up in various ways , most pages are taking between 5-10 seconds to load according to pingdom. My host is suggesting a turbo plan which costs about £8 per month, does anyone know is that competitive ? Im not sure if its worth paying to speed it up , or if my current page load time is too slow ? Is page load time going to affect me seo dramatically ? |

5 - 10 seconds is WAY too slow. Your site should be loading in around 2 - 3 seconds, or less; the faster the better. |

The load time of your pages does seem worryingly slow. Try everything and anything you can do to speed things up on your pages themselves before you consider changing hosting provider: Best Practices for Speeding Up Your Web Site is a good post with a lot of useful tips for page speed improvements you can make. This: Speed Up Wordpress is an awesome post which mainly focuses on changes you can make on WordPress sites. I shell out a couple of quid more for a VPS on my sites which provides a lot of speed benefits rather than choosing a shared hosting option. VPS Hosting - Windows and Linux UK VPS Hosting - LCN.com is what I use. It's more expensive than your shared option but is definitely worth the extra expense if you are hosting commercial sites or those which generate you income in any sense. |

Try other sites on the same server. If they are loading fast then there is an issue with your site no need to change the hosting. But other sites are loading slow than problem is with hosting. |

I would try different hosting because that is way too slow. It should be anywhere from 1-3 seconds.

Is it always 5-10 seconds? If that is the case, time to change hosting.
