Not all backlinks are visible. I see this all the time and more since I've started using SEO Powersuite. Backlinks that I didn't know existed start showing up and sure enough, when I check, there they are. |

Check it in rankchecker.com and see if it is fake.

Maybe they have great content and the backlinks that they do have are really strong? Idk? Every website is different.

I know you said you checked www and non-www, but did you check to see if the site has canonical URLs? I've seen links to something like w w w . e x a m p l e . c o m / i n d e x . p h p not show up as backlinks because that's technically a different address than w w w . e x a m p l e . c o m. If the site doesn't have canonical URLs, there could be quite a few variations the URL to one page.

You know, we are in the same situation. Except that I have already bought my domains. After which, I found out they have no backlinks at all?!?! So, I would also like to know the answer for that because I'm afraid the PR will suddenly just drop for no reason ... | |
