Default Ad Placement

Hello there! I just got 2 conflicting information about ad placement on side bars.

Some says based on heat map, left side is the best because the eyes will first go from left to right.

But based on some of my readings, right is best because normally the cursor always rests on the right side and it is easier to click.

If you only have one sidebar, where will you place your ad/s? Of course, this is aside from the top and the bottom ads that are also recommended.

I am hoping to hear your views on this... Thanks a bunch! :-)

Interesting question... I am only familiar with the right sidebar is effective. But reading the explanation behind the left sidebar argument - it made me think again.

Maybe i will try it out on some of my sites.

All you can do is experiment.

But in my experience the right side bar does the best.

But also only using 2 ads, one on top and one an bottom has also increased not only clicks but CPC as well because there isn't as many spots so only the highest bidders get shown on your site.

Just experiment and see what happens!

A recent study data for eye fixation reveals that the eyes go to the top middle first, then to the left top and then to the right top of a web page.
